At Emmanuel Community School (ECS) the July-September quarter had been very eventful beginning with the final school examination follow by a long holiday and end up at the beginning of a new academic year. Seventeen of our Grade 9’s students sat for the state school-leaving examination to secure their places in Year 10. Thank God all passed and many obtained excellent grades. We are particularly proud of the latest batch of graduates for the reason that almost all of them started their first year in school at ECS when God led us to build the primary school first.
Grade 9’s and 6’s waiting to receive their certificates. They formally thanked their parents and guardians for the support over the years.
Australian And Malaysian Mission Teams At ECS.
Phebe Tham (not in the photo) from Focus on Family Malaysia gave a much-needed talk to the older ECS students on Facts of Life touching on human sexuality. Dr Tek & Goldie, supported by Peter and Herlina, shared their well-earned and much-respected knowledge and wisdom on wide-ranging topics captivating the thoughts and interest of ECS teachers, particularly, touching on marketplace ministry and the how’s in building strong and lasting relationships. The Melbourne team connected very well with the students through their English lessons and music sessions. For the first time, students (and teachers) learned the use of harmonica in music. A number of students responded to salvation call during the Saturday church service.
ECS Youth Church
The weekly church service that is normally held on Saturday morning during school term is now moved to the afternoon and immediately proven to be a hit to the students and teachers.
Covenant City Church
Despite the health setback of Ps Sarith the church had grown stronger than ever. At the altar call, a Muslim lady came forward to receive Jesus into her life. Sarith’s father to step forward for the first time in his life to receive salvation. What a joyful day for the church.
We are overwhelmed by the abundant grace of God at ECS and the churches in Phnom Penh that we are called to serve. We truly thank you for being part of this ministry.
In Christ’s Agape-love,
Ps Teresa & Tim
