2017 First Quarter Report

Dear Friends & Partners,

It is written, My house will be called a house of prayer. Matthew 21:13

The building program is completed and the Emmanuel community wasted no time to make it into a house of prayer.

The Cambodian children can pray like no other – almost all came from non-Christian homes and have recently tasted the goodness of God through answered prayer.

Something about the child-likeness prayer that somehow moved the hands of our Father God into action that we have the privilege to witness this truth wherever we have been to. These children are learning to partner with God to pray beyond their own needs.

If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. Isaiah 58:10 (NIV)

We are pleased to inform that the Emmanuel Community School (ECS) website is now available for your viewing: www.emmanuelschool.edu.kh. With the website launch you can now easily access all the programs and progress and happenings at ECS.

We are also very pleased to inform that the local NGO, Emmanuel Learning Foundation (ELF), is now in operation.

E2STEM EDUCATION

Our current ECS program extended only to Grade 9. Our first batch of Grade 9 students will soon finish their final academic year at ECS in September.

We have been praying with regards the continuing education of our students after ECS which will reinforce the strong spiritual grounding they are now receiving.

Miraculously, God moved Dr Seet Ai Mee, a former Minister of State for Education in Singapore, to set up a college education facility in Cambodia with strong Christian influence.

Timing could not be more perfect as the first batch of Grade 10 student intake will begin at the end of this year.

Children taking the lead

‘From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise’?” Matthew 21:16

With the availability of the assembly hall, music instruments and the teachers to teach them these children are drawn to music and worship like ducks drawn to the water.

New E-Learning Centre

This 30-seat tablet equipped centre is a hit with the students and teachers.

This 30-seat tablet equipped centre is a hit with the students and teachers. Students are now able to learn language and maths at their own pace. They can follow up their e-learning via some tablets made available also in the school library.

Sok Kumthia

Sok Kumthia, one of our senior teachers, tied the knot.

As she was going to have a traditional Cambodian wedding we did a private Christian wedding for her by the hotel poolside complete with a nuptial sermon and witnessed by Emmanuel school colleagues.

MOVING ON

This month (April) marked the 30 years we owned and operated our IT business, Trinix. The business had been a blessing to us and to many others – staff, clients, communities, churches, city and the nations.

We have just passed the business on and we can now look forward with greater vigour what lies ahead. Like Paul who is called to Rome and a vision for Spain (Romans 15:22-33) we have been called to the nations.

Please journey on with us through your prayer as we move on ahead together.

May the love of our Father, grace of our Lord Jesus and the fellowship, comfort and protection of the Holy Spirit be with you.

Tim & Teresa Tay

We will not hide them from their children, Telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

Psalms 78:4 (NKJV)
